Low Carbon Networks & Innovation Conference 2016

November 22, 2016

The Low Carbon Networks & Innovation Conference is a great opportunity for all those involved in this sector to explore the key learnings from electricity and gas network innovation projects. As well as a substantial exhibition, there was also a bustling programme of project-focused presentations and workshops.

The whole conference was co-hosted by our client Electricity North West and took place at Manchester Central from 11 to 13 October 2016.

Our role

Throughout the Conference we got a massive buzz from talking to delegates at our exhibition stand about the customer engagement research we do in this sector.

The major highlight for us, though was Electricity North West’s Customer Future Workshop in which two of our team, Michael Brainch (Director of Utilities) and Dawn Mulvey (Research Director) gave presentations about the Value of Lost Load (VoLL) and Avatar (the future of customer service) projects we’re conducing with Electricity North West. Here are the presentation slides: do get in touch if you’re interested in this work as there’s a lot of explanation that goes with them and we’d love to talk you through them!

In our “spare time” several of our team learned a lot at other presentations including one from EA Technology (another of our clients) on electric vehicles. Michael also joined Paul Bircham, ENW’s Networks Strategy and Technical Services Director, on stage during his section of the Industry Collaboration sessions to highlight how we have developed a successful long term partnership.

Oh, and we might just have enjoyed ourselves just a little bit at the gala dinner in the Concorde hangar at Manchester airport where we were joined by two of the Electricity North West team.

See you at LCNI in 2017!
